1.0 Overview
The Galleon Time-Zone-Clock application is a utility
for Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000 that can be used to
show the time in any number of cities around the world.
The time zone window can be set to ‘always
on top’ which allows the user to continuously
see the time at cities around the world on their desktop.
The time from any number of 386 different countries
and regions can be displayed simultaneously. The utility
automatically adjusts the time for time zone and daylight
saving time offsets.
2.0 Installation
The utility can be installed on any Windows 95, 98,
NT or 2000 machine.
To install the utility select ‘Run’ from
the start menu and run ‘A:\Setup.exe’
from disk 1 of the supplied diskettes.

Fig 1. Run ‘A:\Setup.exe’ from the start
menu
The utility can be started by selecting ‘open
program’ on completion of the installation process.
The utility is automatically installed in the Windows
start menu, and will start after each reboot.
3.0 Using the Time-Zone-Clock
When the Time-Zone-Clock utility first starts it
defaults to displaying the time in four cities: London,
New York, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

3.1 Changing Order Of List
The list can be re-arranged by clicking on the city
that you would like to move to the top of the list.
The other cities in the list automatically move down
one position in the list.
3.2 Adding and Removing Cities From the Time Zone
List
Cities can be added and removed from the list by
double clicking on the time zone list to open the
configuration window in figure 3.
The ‘Add \ Remove Cities’ window allow
any number of 389 cities to be selected for displaying
in the Time Zone List. Highlight the city to add to
the list by clicking on it and then click ‘Add’.
The selected city will move to the selected cities
list.
Alternatively, cities can be removed from the selected
cities list by selecting the city to remove and clicking
‘Remove’.
Click ‘OK’ to accept changes made to
the selected cities list or ‘Cancel’ to
ignore any changes.

3.3 Customizing Timezone Description
When adding a timezone to the timezone list, the standard
timezone description may be customized to your own
requirements. You can either keep the default timezone
text or change it to a custom description.
When a timezone with a custom description is removed
from the list of selected timezones, the custom text
remains intact until the Add/Remove cities window
is closed, after which the text will revert back to
its default timezone text.

3.3 Always On Top
The City Time Zone List can be made to stay on top
of other windows by selecting the ‘Always On
Top’ option. This allows the City Time Zone
List to be visible even if you are working on other
documents.
Deselecting ‘Always On Top’ causes the
City Time Zone List to fall behind other windows as
they are selected.
3.4 Font Size
The size of the font used in the City Time Zone List
can be changed from the ‘Add \ Remove Cities’
window. The larger the font the more screen will be
required to display the information in the City Time
Zone List.
The default font size is 10 point, which is a good
compromise, allowing a good text height without using
up too much screen.
3.5 Form Caption Scrolling
Form caption scrolling allows the time of cities
to be displayed in the taskbar when the application
is minimized. If no scrolling is selected, the city
at the top of the city time zone list is automatically
displayed on the task bar as shown in figure 4. If
‘Zone Stepped’ scrolling is selected then
each time zone is displayed one after the other. If
‘Character Stepped’ scrolling is selected
the times of each city in the city list is shown on
the taskbar in a ticker-tape fashion.
Fig 4: Minimized window shows time on task bar.
3.6 Add Alarm
Alarms may be set in various time zones by selecting
the ‘Add Alarm’ button. The window shown
in figure 5 is displayed.
Fig 5: Add Alarm
An alarm may be added by selecting the city from
the city list and entering an alarm time. A message
may also be associated with the alarm. Clicking the
‘Add’ button will add the alarm to the
current alarm list.
Alarms may be removed from the current alarm list
by highlighting the alarm and clicking the ‘Remove’
button.
3.7 Alarm Display
When an alarm is activated the window shown in figure
6 is displayed. The user must cancel the alarm to
re-show the world clock display. An alarm is activated
when the time in a particular city matches the time
